2024 Greenbanks Tasmanian Whisky Co

This is an exclusive opportunity to own your very own 200-litre barrel of Tasmanian whisky and one of the first barrels to be produced at the Greenbanks Distillery.
Perhaps the barrel is for your own personal whisky collection, to be shared and enjoyed with friends or as a special gift for clients.
Whisky is a rare commodity in that it tends to increase in value and quality as it ages.

“It’s an honour to present the opportunity to secure one of the first casks of whisky produced at Greenbanks. Tasmanian malted barley is renowned for producing a luscious, creamy whisky, and I look forward to enhancing that character in our distillation process. Our ‘on grain’ fermentation and distillation, a first for Tasmanian whisky production, will give us access to new and unique flavours and will bring elevated nutty and cereal characters to the spirit. Maturation in first-fill bourbon casks will provide further complexity, with vanilla and caramel notes coming to the fore. The impact of our Tasmanian terroir, known to bring notes of orchard fruits to the whisky, will be something that develops over time in the cask.”
The price to own your very own 200-litre barrel of Tasmanian whisky, using 100% malted barley, is $5,490 (GST inclusive). This price includes storage for three years, barrel management, handling and insurance.
We will store and mature each of these barrels in our ATO-approved bond store for a minimum of three years from the date of distillation. You will also receive a certificate of ownership for each barrel purchased.
Our head distiller, John Slattery, has personally selected the barrels in which the whisky will mature over the coming years. Each barrel is a carefully selected 200-litre first-fill bourbon barrel that John believes will best complement the whisky he is making.
Each barrel filled will be individually QR coded, registered and tracked through our dedicated distillery management software platform. At the end of each financial year all whisky under maturation will be audited.
