Whisky is a rare commodity in that it tends to increase in value and quality as it ages.

“It’s an honour to present you the opportunity to secure a cask of whisky produced at Greenbanks. Tasmanian malted barley is renowned for producing a luscious, creamy whisky, and we enhance that character in our distillation process. Our ‘on grain’ fermentation and distillation, a first for Tasmanian whisky production, brings elevated nutty and cereal characters to the spirit. Maturation in first-fill bourbon casks provide further complexity, with vanilla and caramel notes coming to the fore. The impact of our Tasmanian terroir, known to bring notes of orchard fruits to the whisky, is something that develops over time in the cask.”
The price to own your very own 200-litre barrel of Tasmanian whisky, made from 100% malted barley, is $5,490 (GST inclusive).
We will store and mature each of these barrels in our ATO-approved bond store for a minimum of three years from the date of distillation. You will also receive a certificate of ownership for each barrel purchased.
WARNING
Under the Liquor Licensing Act 1990 it is an offence:
for liquor to be delivered to a person under the age of 18 years.
Penalty: Fine not exceeding 20 penalty units
for a person under the age of 18 years to purchase liquor.
Penalty: Fine not exceeding 10 penalty units
Our head distiller, John Slattery, personally selects the barrels in which the whisky will mature over the coming years. Each 200-litre first-fill bourbon barrel that is selected for private barrel owners is one that John believes best complements the whisky he is making.
Each barrel filled is individually QR coded, registered and tracked through our dedicated distillery management software platform. At the end of each financial year, all whisky under maturation is independently audited.
